The Method Of AR Stripping
1) Remove lenses from Frame
2) Determine Type of material the lenses are made of.
3) Insert into the CR39 Stripper or into Glass or Polycarbonate Stripper.
4) 5-6 seconds later remove from solution with a plastic spoon and rinse under water.
5) Check surface, if there are some residues left, re-insert for a few more seconds, then rinse under water.
6) If lens is clean, the job is done. Should you still see some scratches, they are embedded in the hard coat, so go to step 7.
7) You now have to remove the hard coat, (works with CR39 only). Re- insert into stripper solution for 1 to 2 hours that will dissolve the hard coat. The CR39 lens material will not be affected. Once the hard coat is all dissolved, rinse the lens under water and dry. "It is now in most cases without scratches and has the appearance of a new lens, and can be re-inserted into the frame, or tinted in a sunglass shade."
PS, If stripping Glass, Polycarbonate or High Index lenses make sure to use the stripper designed for these lenses, so not to damage the hard coat or lens materials. These materials will turn non reversible white opaque when dipped in the stripper made for CR39.
